No, it isn’t. While they are aware of the program, part of the reason we exist is that programs such as these are normally quite expensive and bureaucratic – we trying to offer a simply community-fueled alternative to that model.

Currently the only ways to help are to register and agree to help to shovel or to let us know about people who may need help (with their permission of course) or simply spreading the good word. That being said, who knows what the future holds? We appreciate the offer.

There is only one way that we know of so far. Do what we did, bring it there yourself.

Don’t register. It’s a simple as that. We have no intention of shoveling walks at random or against people’s will. This is simply a way to find people in your area to help if you’d like it. That being said, you will still have a chance to discuss the matter in advance with the potential volunteer via email before anything is actually done.

While you can read a LOT more about this is in our TERMS OF SERVICE page, the fact remains that we are simply a tool to make the connection and are not responsible for damaged or loss of property. We hope and trust that you will use every precaution to protect yourself and your property as you would otherwise do. This entire project is built upon trust and faith in people to do the right thing. We hope and trust Canadians will pass this test. We are extremely sorry to hear this happened though.

Well, it’s at 6:30PM at my house but I imagine it varies depending on what cable company you have. Also, very likely it’s on a various times and channels. I’m just not exactly sure for your TV. Sorry about that.

My gut feeling is no. They volunteered to do it and you are under no pressure to tip them of give them a gift. There are plenty of people out there who will shovel your walk and laneway for money. Snow Angels are not those people. A heartfelt ‘thank you’ might be nice though.

The pleasure was all ours. All we ask is that you spread the good word. Just tell friends, family and neighbours that we exist. We need to know about others who may need help and/or others who are willing to shovel. Social media, community groups, social clubs, the guy sitting next to you at the bus stop … the only way this works is if people hear about us and I just officially made you an ambassador.

If you’re signed up as a recipient on www.snowangelscanada.ca, you can switch your account to a volunteer profile. Just click “Become a Volunteer” in the main navigation dropdown—this will allow you to offer help to others in your community.

Of course not. If you are high school student or someone who is trying to track volunteer hours there may be some benefit but it is completely optional. Feel free to carry on as you always have – but now with the knowledge you have a sincere thanks and appreciation.

None. You can make zero money.

We certainly hope so but the truth is we have no idea. We strongly encourage you to check with whomever you will be submitting you hours to in advance of becoming a Snow Angel. Once registered you will have the ability to download a form to track your own hours but whether or not they will be recognized we simply cannot guarantee. Better safe than sorry – check in advance. Either way, there is little question you’ll make an impact to someone and make your neighbourhood a kinder place?

As per TVDSB staff, you bet! And we quote, “Yes, this would qualify for community service. There is no money changing hands and it supports community members in need. Students ought not to do it alone and they will need to have someone who can sign off on the community service hours tracking form.” So grab some friends and let’s get shoveling both snow and kindness!

While you can read a LOT more about this is in our Terms of Service page, the fact remains that we are simply a tool to make the connection we are not responsible for any injuries that result from being a Snow Angel. You no doubt understand that shoveling and simply being outside in the winter can be hazardous and that your safety remains your responsibility. We do recommend going out a group (halo) for safety reasons – not to mention everything is more fun as a group. The risks are all yours I’m afraid – but so are the benefits associated with helping others. So it’s got that going for it. Which is nice. Seriously though, get well soon.

Once registered you have to the option to put your account on hold, turning your availability on and off at anytime. We all need a break. Maybe curl up with a good book and a cup of cocoa?
